The LGBT Network Action Team organizes and mobilizes our local communities to take action and create change ensuring safer spaces for LGBTQ people in every town, city and community. Our Action Team has recently mobilized hundreds to win a clean sweep of 3 open seats in the Smithtown Library Board election to ensure that our libraries remain safe spaces for all. The LGBT Network Action Team quickly responded to a Pride Flag Ban in the Connetquot School District and within a matter of days organized over 600 students, teachers, parents and families and community members to rally and protest and filed a lawsuit to protect our LGBT youth and teachers.
