MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN 4 EASY STEPS:
There are four simple steps to include the NY LGBT Network in your will or living trust:
1. Identify Your Assets
These include: your home, cash, investments, retirement or pension plans, life insurance, real estate, and personal property.
2. Meet with a Network Development Staff Person
Our staff is here to assist you in helping you align your passions and interests to a particular aspect the NY LGBT Network’s work or projects. By doing so, you can earmark your gift for a particular area of service for the LGBT community for the benefit of future generations.
3. Meet with An Estate-Planning Attorney
Consider meeting with a trusted estate-planning attorney to help you finalize your intentions. An attorney can guide you through the process of creating or updating your will, trust, or other legal documents to ensure your legacy gift is carried out according to your wishes. Choosing an advisor who understands and affirms the needs of the LGBT community can make the process easier and more meaningful.
4. Communicate and Document Your Intent
Once you have decided how you will make a bequest to the NY LGBT Network, please complete a Bequest Intention Form. This Form will officially communicate your intended bequest to the NY LGBT Network. By doing so, the NY LGBT Network will be able to acknowledge your gift, and it will help simplify receiving your gift in the future.
