Expressive Arts – Saturdays
This program will meet quarterly on Saturdays from 2:00–3:30 PM at the Hauppauge LGBT Center (125 Kennedy Drive, Suite 100, Hauppauge).

Saturday, April 4th, 2:00–3:30 PM: Renewal
Update or refresh an object from home to give it new life and meaning using paint or decoupage (paper, stickers, glue). Participants should bring an item they’d like to transform (e.g., lamp, jeans, knickknack, etc.).

Saturday, May 30th, 2:00–3:30 PM: Community Pride Banner
A collaborative, community-driven mural project celebrating the diversity, strength, and resilience of the Long Island LGBT community. This will serve as an art installation at the Hauppauge LGBT Center during Pride Month.

Saturday, August 29th, 2:00–3:30 PM: Sculpting Clay Treasures
Participants will use air-dry clay to create trinkets and pieces that reflect their interests and creativity.

Saturday, December 5th, 2:00–3:30 PM: Holiday Joy Painting
Celebrate the season by painting a canvas inspired by what brings you joy. Light refreshments will be provided, and participants are welcome to bring a favorite holiday treat to share.

Art supplies will be provided. Please encourage registration to ensure adequate materials.

A $5 suggested donation at each event supports our Mental Health Program and helps keep counseling services free for LGBT youth.

While these are not formal art therapy sessions, they offer a great introduction to the benefits of creative expression and art therapy.
