BE A PROJECT TEN YOUTH ORGANIZER WITH THE LGBT NETWORK!

The LGBT Network is now recruiting Youth Organizers for a new project – Teen Empowerment Network (TEN). Project TEN Youth Organizers help create safe spaces for LGBT youth throughout Long Island through outreach and events. Our goal is simple: Youth create more safe spaces for LGBT youth.

This is a massive initiative! We’re hiring 40 Youth Organizers throughout Long Island. We’re putting together four teams of 10 youth to organize and create safe spaces for LGBT youth in four (4) regions: (1) Nassau County; (2) Western and Central Suffolk County; (3) North Fork; and (4) Hamptons.

Slots are limited for this unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Youth Organizers have flexibility with hours and shifts. We’re seeking youth who can consistently give 6 to 10 hours per week at a minimum, and this can include remote, virtual work. Youth Organizers are paid an hourly wage of $16.00 per hour.

What will Project TEN Youth Organizers do? Youth Organizers will:

  • Work with LGBT Network staff to create and organize local events for LGBT youth in your respective region.
  • Lend insights and suggestions about making events appealing, fun, and action-packed.
  • Take-on certain responsibilities for organizing and running events, such as creating a leadership session, facilitating an icebreaker, designing a graphic, and more.
  • Use their social media platforms to share their involvement and invite others to join them in giving.
  • Attend meetings with other Youth Organizers, both virtually and in-person to meet other youth looking to make a difference and take action.
