With May as Older Americans Month, this timely workshop will deepen participants’ understanding of the unique experiences of LGBT older adults. We will discuss prevalent health and social disparities, unique needs, and how historical attitudes toward LGBT people oftentimes negatively impact LGBT older adults. We will also discuss resiliencies and best practices to provide more LGBT-affirming care. Available resources on Long Island and Queens will also be provided.

* Please note that this course requires a basic knowledge of LGBT communities. It is recommended that participants complete the LGBT 101 and TGNCNB Experiences courses prior to enrolling in this training.
