Women's Fund of Long Island Supports LGBT Network's LBT Women's Retreat
The LGBT Network received a $5,000 grant from The Women's Fund of Long Island (WFLI) for an LBT Women's Retreat.
February 13, 2015 – The Women's Fund of Long Island (WFLI) has awarded the LGBT Network a $5,000 grant to support a new project for lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LBT) women.
"We're thrilled to receive support from WFLI," says LGBT Network CEO, David Kilmnick. "Their support and focus is a perfect match for this new project." With the grant, the LGBT Network will organize and hold an LBT women's retreat in the spring of 2015. The retreat will engage more than 50 LBT women of all ages.
"This LBT women's retreat is meeting a critical community need," said LGBT Network Director of Community Engagement, Kerrie O'Neill. "It's exciting because this retreat provides a unique opportunity for LBT women across generations to share and discuss critical social and cultural issues. Young LBT women can learn from the experiences and history of older LBT women, and vice versa."
The LGBT Network is currently organizing the retreat and a date will be announced in March 2015.
