Elizabeth Myers-Rodriguez, MA
Elizabeth Rodriguez (Eli) is the Program Coordinator, HIV/STD Services at the Queens Center for the LGBT Network. She will conduct community-based, mobile, and online outreach, engaging high-risk individuals during day and evening hours as well as increasing awareness and access to PrEP and PEP as strategies to prevent contracting HIV.
Eli was born and raised in NYC but her heart is always in the Dominican Republic where her parents are from. She is very jolly, humble, open-minded and friendly person that enjoys helping others. She’s always been enthusiastic when volunteering for activities, both in school and within her community. Eli wanted to incorporate her passion to help others with her future life/career goals. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communications at SUNY New Paltz in Spring 2008, she drifted to a health center where it has provided her with insight on various aspects of health education and promotion. The experience and knowledge Eli attained at work has made her realize to strive to be that person making decisions that impact our health system. While working full time, she went back to school and in January 2017 received her Master’s degree in Health Education and Promotion from Lehman College.
Prior to working at the LGBT Network, Eli was at the William F. Ryan Health Community Health Center for eight years. At the center, some of her responsibilities included outreach activities and community events to promote awareness for access to health service. This also helped her realize how she can do much more with the enthusiasm she has always possessed in helping others.
In her free time Eli loves spending quality time with her family and friends, adventuring new places and activities with her better half, doing community service and attending events with her chapter mermaid sisters of Lambda Tau Omega Sorority Inc. She also loves taking pictures and traveling to fill up her 2nd passport to capture all the memories for life.
