Aaron Braun is the Community Educator at the LGBT Network. He is responsible for delivering a sundry of trainings to different organizations across Long Island and in Queens which focus on creating safer and more supportive and affirming spaces for LGBT individuals.
Aaron graduated from SUNY Oneonta in 2013 with a dual degree in Adolescent Education and Mathematics. During his time at Oneonta, Aaron was highly involved in the colleges GSA and made great strides for the transgender community by bringing gender neutral bathrooms to the campus. He also worked at the colleges Gender and Sexuality Resource Center which offered a plethora of information on LGBT and women’s health.
Prior to working with the Network, Aaron was a substitute teacher in Suffolk Country where he worked with students grades K-12. He also spent a brief period of time out in California working with AmeriCorps on a brand new project which aimed to build up students skillsets to make them better prepared for entering college or the workforce. Aaron has a strong passion for education and sharing that passion with others.
In his free time, Aaron enjoys playing his guitar, hanging out with friends, and snowboarding during the winter season.
