The Health Access Initiative helps non-profit human services and healthcare providers advance and promote their LGBT-affirming and inclusive programs and services so that more LGBT people are aware of, and access, more health-related services.
Major Activities of the Program
LGBT Services Consortium
Meetings provide an opportunity for participating providers to convene, network, and share their offerings for the LGBT community for the purpose of mutual referrals.
Education Programs
Participating providers receive access to a series of LGBT-inclusion programs, including a variety of complimentary programs. These programs include:
- LGBT 101 for Providers
- T201 Serving the Transgender Community
- The What, Why, & How of Pronouns
- Being a Great Provider: Top 10 Dos & Don’ts
- The Coming Out Process
LGBT Health and Services Directory
The Directory will feature participating providers so that LGBT people have an easy and accessible way to identify LGBT-affirming providers.  The Directory will be available in both digital and print formats. Providers also have the opportunity to become LGBT Network Certified, a free program that recognizes organizations for their LGBT-inclusion efforts.
LGBT Health Fair
The Health Fair will feature LGBT-affirming and inclusive providers so that LGBT people have an opportunity to meet and connect with providers in-person and learn more about their offerings. The Health Fair will also feature community health education programs.
