Island Fertility, a practice in Stony Brook Medicine Community Medical Group, made a $5,000 gift to the LGBT Network’s Next Generation fundraising campaign supporting its flagship Hauppauge Center – the nation’s largest suburban LGBT center.  James Stelling, MD, FACOG, HCLD and Bradley Trivax, MD, FACOG, presented the gift to the center.  The donation will be attributed to naming one of three Consult Rooms in the Hauppauge Center, including services for the organization’s LGBT Families Program.

“LGBT Network thanks Island Fertility for this generous gift that supports the organization’s vital and life-saving work, helping to keep the doors open of this community center,” says LGBT Network Executive VP & COO Robert Vitelli. “This gift is going to help deliver direct services, and in particular help LGBT people get the information and support needed to navigate starting their own family.”

The Consult Rooms are used for a variety of services, including HIV testing and STI screening services and counseling sessions. The Consult Rooms are also used to deliver information and navigation services for LGBT people seeking to start or grow their families, either through IVF, fostering, or adoption.

“We believe in the LGBT Network’s mission and are happy to contribute to an organization that provides vital services to the LGBT community,” said Dr. Trivax. “At Island Fertility, we pride ourselves on providing safe, compassionate care for all sexual orientations and gender identities.”

About LGBT Network and Next Generation Campaign

The LGBT Network is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is a home and a voice for LGBT people, their families, and support systems in Long Island and Queens.  Our community centers help LGBT people to be themselves, stay healthy, and change the world.  Since 1993, the LGBT Network has been pioneering advocacy and social change to create safe spaces where LGBT people live, learn, work, play, and pray.  The LGBT Network’s Next Generation Campaign is supporting the organization’s Next Generation of LGBT community centers – new, innovative centers that are larger and designed with more amenities for the LGBT community. The Hauppauge Center is the first of these centers offering more social and cultural programming while growing the organization’s core of community, health, and advocacy services. The LGBT Network’s Hauppauge Center is the nation’s largest suburban LGBT center.
