LGBT Network Stands with Governor Cuomo on NYS North Carolina Travel Ban

Woodbury, NY (March 8, 2019) – The LGBT Network reinforced today their continued support of New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo’s North Carolina Travel Ban that has been in effect since 2016, when the state passed what has been known as North Carolina’s HB2 law, also known as the “bathroom bill”. The bill got national press as being both blatantly discriminatory and a big step back in the quest for equal rights in America’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and specifically transgender community.

LGBT Network President/CEO and Founder David Kilmnick says, “We not only stand with Governor Andrew Cuomo, but we commend him for his continued support of the North Carolina Travel Ban. Bias and bigotry have no place in New York State and shouldn’t in North Carolina or anywhere in America. Therefore as long as North Carolina has discriminatory laws that further divide our country and hurt our community we do not believe New York tax dollars should be spent there.”
