A New Name and a Big Announcement Coming
The Long Island GLBT Network will now be known as the LGBT Network
January 27, 2015 – The Long Island GLBT Network will now be known as the LGBT Network! You’ll be seeing the name change roll out across in the next few weeks including social media, web and other branding outlets. The name change comes as the LGBT Network continues its rapid growth and expansion – and a special big announcement one week from today.
There are a few other important things about the change to point out: First, we’re moving from “GLBT” to “LGBT” to align with the most commonly used iteration of our community’s acronym - you will see this reflected where appropriate through the Network's organizations names as well. Second, you’ll see we’re dropping the “Long Island” from just The Network name - and that’s for good reason! We’re making these changes to better reflect the organization’s purpose and its future growth.
Next Tuesday, February 3, 2015, The LGBT Network will be making a big announcement – one that will reflect our efforts to serve more people in more places, and advance our goals of ending homophobia and transphobia, providing a home and safe space for the LGBT community, and advocating for equality.
Be on the lookout for how to watch the announcement via live stream.
Thank you for your continued support and look forward to celebrating what will be a year of milestones, progress and growth together!
