Melissa Holly is the Linkage to Care Coordinator for the new LGBT Network’s program TORCH, in collaboration with Community Action for Social Justice CASJ. Melissa’s responsibilities include HIV/STI testing and counseling during weekly drop in hours as well as special social events which include bars, clubs and community events. Melissa concentrates mainly on substance abuse users; in linking them into care to begin the road to recovery.
Melissa started out as a volunteer at LGBT Networks annual PRIDE event bartending in the VIP section. Melissa has a B.A. in Comparative Humanities/Spanish from SUNY at Old Westbury. In Melissa’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her 8 year old son, reading books, going “thrifting” as well as exercise.
